Washington County Sheriff's Office Announces Official Launch and Departmental Activation
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MARYLAND - The Washington County Sheriff's Office proudly announces the official activation of its operations under the authority of The Honorable Sheriff Toby197012. This marks the formal establishment of law enforcement services within the jurisdiction of Washington County, reinforcing the Office's commitment to professionalism, service, and community protection in our new game.

"Our mission is clear, to serve with integrity, protect the innocent, and uphold justice for all citizens of Washington County," said Sheriff Toby. "We are setting a new standard of discipline and pride for our new department."

The Sheriff's Office will begin with four primary divisions:

Patrol Division: Frontline responders handling calls for service, traffic enforcement, and community patrols.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT): Tactical response to high-risk incidents, hostage situations, and armed confrontations.
High Enforcement Apprehension Team (HEAT): Specialized interdiction and vehicle enforcement division.
Judicial and Detention Services: Responsible for courthouse security, warrant service, and inmate management.

In preparation for launch, the Department has completed the frafting of its official Department Policy Manual, implemented a Rank Structure and Chain of Command, and established the Application and Recruitment Program to ensure we have the most qualified individuals serving in our uniform.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office emphasizes professional conduct, realistic operations, and fairness in enforcement, reflecting the values of accountability, tradition, and dedication that define real-world law enforcement.

Recruitment for the first generation of deputies is now open. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications through the official Google Form. Those who meet standards will proceed to the training phase before receiving their official appointment as Wshington County Deputies.

About the Department

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and building trust within our community. Our deputies are trained professionals who uphold the law with integrity, respect, and commitment to the citizens we serve.

Divisions

The backbone of our agency, deputies in Patrol provide 24/7 law enforcement presence throughout the county. They respond to calls for service, conduct traffic enforcement, and ensure public safety on the streets and neighborhoods.

High Enforcement Action team (HEAT) specializes in targeted enforcement operations, including narcotics investigations, gang suppression, and specialized crime interdiction. They work to disrupt criminal activity before it impacts the community.

Our SWAT team is trained to handle high-risk operations such as hostage situations, barricaded suspects, and armed confrontations. SWAT members undergo tactical training to safely resolve critical incidents.

This division is responsible for court security, serving legal documents such as warrants and subpoenas, and managing prisoner transport. They ensure the integrity and safety of judicial proceedings.

Operating the county jail and detention facilities, Corrections deputies oversee inmate custody, rehabilitation programs, and facility security, ensuring the safe incarceration and humane treatment of detainees.
